Another soldier senator?

Is he cooking up another coup or building up forces to follow the lead of Antonio Trillanes to win but not sit in the Senate?

Check out jailed BGen. Danny Lim in uniting a squad of military oriented groups.

Soldiers/Policemen in the are Senate Pong Biazon, PMA classmates Gringo Honasan and Ping Lacson, and Trillanes, who like Lim is incarcerated.

3 Cheers for Davao BPO Sportfest

bposportsHere are the people behind the Aux Sports 2009 organized by the BPO Association of Davao in cooperation of ICT Davao after the opening ceremonies this morning at the People’s Park. I am at the center in red sports jacket.

3 Cheers for first, their active participation – more than 600 turned up for the 7:30 a.m. opening; 2nd, for holding the 1st sportfest among BPOs in the country (there was one held in Manila but it was organized by a telecom company not by an association); and 3rd, amazing talents at the first competition – cheer-dance contest. Watch out for youtube posts on this.

Other events lined up are basketball, lawn and table tennis, volleyball, bowling and badminton.

Big bang on May 9

fairtrade

Local fair trade advocates opened a mini-fair at the Matina Town Square yesterday to prepare for the big bang on May 9 to mark the World Fair Trade Day.

Activities for the mini-fair includes a forum, product exhibits and demonstrations and an evening concert.

Thanks to Katakus, an award-winning micro-enterprise NGO and volunteers of the UK-Philippines Global Xchange for organizing the mini-fair.

Join the big bang on May 9 by beating drums against poverty, against the global economic crisis and against climate change.

Among the 1st to sign up

unangdaan

Yup, here’s proof that I was one of the first to sign up for Mar in 2010. This was taken Tuesday night at the launch of the “Unang Daan” or the first hundred partisans for Senator Mar Roxas held at the Clubhouse at the Araneta Center in Cubao.

Back to blog

I got internet connection problems and became busy with other work the past month. But here I am back to blog.

I just flew in yesterday from Manila where I followed up projects with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and attended the Unang Daan (1st 100) partisan volunteers for Senator Mar Roxas.

Here are some of my activities in the next few days:

Represent the Mayor at the Philippine Government Employees Association Forum on Housing at Apo View Hotel tomorrow morning;

Guest Speaker at the Davao Loves Fair Trade Exhibit at the Matina Town Square at 1 pm tomorrow;

Taping of Kapamilya Winner Ka! at ABS-CBN at 7 a.m. Saturday;

Guest Speaker at the Induction of the Philippine Judo Federation Region XI at Villa Josefina Clubhouse at 11 a.m.

Meeting of the Davao City Sports Council with PSC re Arafura Games at 6 pm;

Represent the Mayor at the Opening of the Sportfest of the Call Center Association of Davao at People’s Park on Sunday at 9 am

But what will really keep me busy in the next several days would be preparatory work for Senator Mar Roxas’ visit to Davao City and General Santos on February 26-28.

Feel nice to be back.
